A Norbertine Associate is a person who participates and shares in the prayer, ministry and common life of the professed community while remaining "in the world" as a married or single lay person. Associates are enriched by sharing more intensely in the Norbertine charism and mission of the Abbey. At Daylesford Abbey there are more than 60 Associates and, along with the professed priests and brothers, they form the core community of Faith at the center of the larger Abbey assembly.
Associates, along with the professed community, seek to be of one heart together on the way to God. They seek by their participation in Norbertine life to deepen their relationship with God.
After a period of initial formation and discernment, Associates share in Norbertine communio; commit themselves to spiritual practice; and accept assignments to collaborate in various Abbey ministries.
